Savory Breakfast Ideas to Keep You Full All Fall
Think outside the box when it comes to breakfast. Skip the maple syrup soaked pancakes, french toast, and waffles and try something savory to start your day. A mix of protein, veggies, whole grains, and delicious flavor-enhancing spices will help keep you satisfied all day long.
Here are a few recipes we love:
Sweet Potato, Kale, Garam Masala Hash, Fried Egg
Start with the basics of savory breakfast: eggs. Our Sweet Potato, Kale, Garam Masala Hash, Fried Egg hits you with elements of sweet, spicy, bitter, and umami.
Vegetable Frittata Stuffed Peppers
Keeping on the egg theme, these breakfast stuffed peppers are an easy, crowd-pleasing breakfast or brunch. Frittatas are a great way to break up the boredom of breakfast. They're easy to prepare. It's an excellent chance for the whole family to get into the kitchen and comfortable cooking. These can be made ahead for a quick, no-mess breakfast. Kale, Caramelized Onion, Goat Cheese Breakfast Barley
Don’t limit yourself to oats for breakfast. Instead, try barley, brown rice, quinoa, or farro as the base for a whole grain breakfast bowl. Our recipe for Kale, Caramelized Onion, Goat Cheese Breakfast Barley packs a full serving of veggies into each individual portion. We love the flavor of almost sweet caramelized onion, tangy goat cheese, and hearty barley. And 11 grams of fiber is guaranteed to keep your stomach from growling at least until lunch.
Brown Rice Congee, Egg, Roasted Mushrooms
Get adventurous with your international cuisine inspiration too! Congee, a Chinese savory rice porridge, is traditionally a white rice breakfast served with toppings like eggs, vegetables, and proteins, but our brown rice twist gives ours an extra punch of fiber.
Turkey Sausage, Mushroom Oatmeal
If breakfast barley or brown rice are a little too adventurous for you, build on a classic: oatmeal.
