Meet Sylvana Molina, Café Manager

Years you have worked at FLIK Hospitality Group/Compass Group: 16

Tell us a little about yourself.

Born in Guatemala City, Father Rudy Molina, Mother Maria Molina, sister, and a brother.

Come to the USA when I was 15 when to Falls Church High school in Virginia, got pregnant at 18, single mother of Evelin Chavez. Star working with Compass Group at 19. Got married at 21 and have 3 wonderful kids. Got divorced and moved to NJ in 2006. Got a new job with another hospitality company as an accounting adman for a number of year years and have two grandkids and came back to FLIK in 2021.

What is your favorite Hispanic/Latin dish and why?

Carne Asada is my favorite, because back home my father used to make every Sunday meal for all the family get together. It was very nice after work hard all week, Sunday was the only day all uncles and Aunts and coursing got together.

Being Latina means having a deep appreciation of your background and understanding the great importance of family. For example, if you are a first-generation Latina in the United States, you can appreciate the difficulties your family has endured and due to that experience has molded you into the person that you are. For most Latinas, family support has been integral to their success.
