Brooklyn Navy Yard’s Getting a New Food Hall With Danny Meyer Input
By Stefanie Tuder and Carla Vianna
Danny Meyer will have a hand in the food at upcoming Brookyn Navy Yard office building Dock 72. The major restaurateur’s catering group Union Square Events is consulting on food stations within the building’s 13,000-square-foot food hall. Stalls haven’t been decided on yet, but there will be “local specialty food vendors,” a bar, coffee bar, and juice bar. FLIK Hospitality will manage the food hall day-to-day.
It’s not yet clear if the food hall at Dock 72 will be open to the public or just WeWork employees and their guests. The building is massive, with 300,000 square feet holding 4,000 workers and split up between office space, an indoor/outdoor roof deck, fitness center, food hall, parking, and landscaping. It opens in October.
